But, if you look at a video and ask what effects/techniques/expressions the creator used to make the video look like that, then this course is definitely for you. This article needs additional citations for verification. The best way I could describe this: if you see a video you like and want to know how they made things move so effortlessly, then this course does little to address those questions. Not saying this is a bad course, just letting people know that it shouldn't be the only course they should reference. This course focuses on how the tool works more than the principles of motion. I also think principles are very important, as they help you become better at your craft which is why suggested that those interested in this course should use it as a supplement to other animation tutorials/courses. To do a full video, you're going have to either learn things like storyboarding, design, audio editing etc own your own or learn those skills on other courses. It's going to be up to you to figure out how to make a full video on your own. So basically you're just accumulating a bunch of neat tricks as the course progresses. There isn't an overall project to help 'wrap' the entire curriculum up at the end either. Like I said, this isn't a fundamentals course - so things like animation principles are not taught in depth like on School of Motion. I recommend you try their free course it's pretty good and gives you a general idea on what to expect, but yes I recommend them highly imho. The only other option for a similar course is school of motion and they are at least double the price and in some courses triple ($600-$900). I just want to get my time organized so I can push through all of it. Zero regrets buying the course (it's at your own pace so no time limit). ![]() In general I think they're pretty good. They also recently added a pretty long lesson for portfolio shots. ![]() I got that one and purchased 3 or 4 days before their black friday sale (-$150), so I messaged them and they refunded the $100 difference to match their sale. They provide a $50 discount if you are in a country with crap conversion rates or if you need the financial aid in general.
